Denton Township CERT Program
Denton Township received a federal grant to set up and train a C.E.R.T. Team. Community Emergency Response Teams provide immediate assistance during an emergency until First Responders are available. This allows ordinary citizens to step up and help their neighbors during a disaster. Adults of all ages may join. A basic training course and all equipment is provided. Team members will train to assist the Denton Fire, EMS and Police Departments. Emergencies such as severe weather and prolonged power outages can and have happened in our community. The first of three classes has been completed with 15 graduating. The second class has started and a third will commence later in the year. For questions about the C.E.R.T. Program call Pat Parr at 989-329-7773.
